What we do
Our support group is open twice a week to all members and once a month specifically for those within the 18-50 age bracket, welcoming members to our thriving and vibrant club.
After enjoying some seated keep fit, test your dart skills, have a game of scrabble or enjoy some craft activities. You can also enjoy quizzes, trips to play tenpin bowling and the occasional pub lunch.
11.00am – 2.30pm
Enjoy a cooked lunch in the company of friends followed by a varied entertainment program of interesting talks, choirs, VI equipment demonstrations and schools. A visiting chiropodist and beauty therapists offer reduced rates to our members.
Working Age Group
First Saturday of each month
Meet with younger members of the visually impaired community, discuss technological solutions to help with day-to-day life and get involved in various activities including tenpin bowling, goalball, baking and quizes, all while being supported by our team of volunteers.
We also organise regular day trips to include boat trips, places of interest, museums, and bowling.
A week-long break to a UK hotel on the coast is organised for those who want to join others on a fun-packed week. Transport to and from the hotel will be included along with day outings during the week to make the holiday even more special.
On the 2nd June 2022 it was announced that we were included in the 244 voluntary groups selected to receive The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2022.
